As the face is the image of the soul, the eyes are its interpreters.

Bio

Luisa Diaz Chamorro (b. 1970, Málaga, Spain) is a Spanish painter based in Italy.
She discovered her passion for drawing and painting at an early age, beginning with portraits of family and friends. At fifteen she studied under the portrait painter Antonio Montiel in Málaga, where she trained in oil painting and direct observation from life.
After graduating in mechanical engineering and moving to Turin in 1994, painting remained a constant and essential part of her life. Over the years she continued her artistic education in Málaga, Barcelona, Madrid, Paris, and Turin, deepening her exploration of oil, watercolor, and pastel techniques.
Since 2012, the landscapes of the Italian Alps have profoundly influenced her work. The mountains of the Chisone Valley became a source of inspiration, strengthening her connection to nature and expanding her practice to include murals and works on stone and wood.
In 2019 she devoted herself entirely to her artistic career. Her work focuses on figurative painting — particularly portraiture, landscapes, and animal subjects — exploring the emotional relationship between human presence and nature. Light plays a central role in her paintings, shaping atmosphere and conveying a quiet sense of intimacy.
She currently works from her studio in Rivoli (Turin), where she develops her artistic production and organizes international watercolor painting retreats and workshops.
Her paintings are held in private collections in Italy, the United Kingdom, and France.
